Nikita Zadorov rejects contract extension proposal from the Vancouver Canucks
Vancouver Canucks General Manager, Patrik Allvin is gearing up for a busy six to eight weeks ahead, as the NHL Entry Draft and free agency period approach.
In addition to these events Allvin and his management team are focused on securing contracts for their free agents with defenseman Nikita Zadorov being a top priority.
Since his arrival in Vancouver, Zadorov has proven to be a presence on the ice. His solid defensive skills and ability to make contributions during the Stanley Cup Playoffs have made him a valuable asset for the Canucks. Players like him are crucial when aiming for the Stanley Cup.
Recent reports indicate that discussions between the Canucks and Zadorov's representatives regarding a contract are underway. While no agreement has been finalized yet, there seems to have been an offer made to Nikita Zadorov which he reportedly turned down.
As per Irfaan Gaffars update, the Vancouver Canucks proposed a four or five year contract with an annual value of $4.5 million to Nikita Zadorov, but it was rejected.

Reportedly Zadorov and his team are more focused on the length of the contract than the monetary value. If he isn't open to a deal lasting four or five years it raises questions about what terms he's looking for. Considering his age (29) a seven or eight year contract seems unlikely.
