The Chicago Blackhawks recently engaged in a trade to secure draft picks this week, and insider Elliotte Friedman has disclosed that Kyle Davidson is aiming to make another move up in the 2024 NHL Draft.

The Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders finalized a trade earlier in the week, involving a total of five draft picks allowing the Blackhawks to advance in both the first and second rounds.
Trade:

To Chicago #Blackhawks
2024 1st RD pick (#18 - NYI)
2024 2nd RD pick (#50 - NYI)

To New York #Isles
2024 1st RD pick (#20 - TBL)
2024 2nd RD pick (#54 - LAK)
2024 2nd RD pick (#61 - VAN)

In todays episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman mentioned that the Chicago Blackhawks are actively seeking advancement in preparation, for the 2024 NHL draft.
32 Thoughts Podcast: On the Chicago/Islanders pick swap trade from last week Elliotte thinks it's a precursor to another trade. Either someone moving up higher in the draft or to add to a package for a different trade.

As of now Chicago holds the 2nd overall pick in the NHL draft, and is not expected to trade it. However they also possess the 18th, 34th and 50th picks, which they could combine to secure a higher pick within the top ten.
Certainly General Manager Kyle Davidson will have a busy offseason ahead. He will be looking to make some major moves for the Blackhawks as they focus on building around their 2023 1st overall pick Connor Bedard.
