Since being traded from Calgary, Zadorov has been a reliable member of the Canucks squad, and he has particularly thrived under Rick Tocchet's coaching staff. If the Canucks and Zadorov can agree on terms and money, it would be best to have him around for at least the upcoming several seasons.
Zadorov's agent, Dan Milstein, stated in a recent interview with Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic and TSN that they will be meeting with the organization soon to talk about his future in Vancouver. In the event that neither party can reach a consensus by July 1st, Milstein stated that he will go out on the open market to explore what options are available.
Moscow, Russia-born Zadorov played in 54 games for the Canucks during the regular season, recording 14 points (six goals, nine assists), 102 penalty minutes, and a plus-six rating. In 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games, he had eight points (four goals, four assists) and 26 penalty minutes.
It is probable that Nikita Zadorov will remain with the Canucks for the upcoming season and maybe beyond, considering the team's need for a tough, physical defenseman who can also contribute offensively. Zadorov's play during his time with Vancouver this season has further reinforced this belief.
