The Toronto Maple Leafs are actively pursuing defensive reinforcements, with Brandon Montour emerging as a prime target.

Brad Treliving is gearing up for a busy offseason, exploring trade possibilities and free agency options. While a major trade for players like Mitch Marner seems unlikely, there's growing speculation about the Leafs' interest in signing both Brandon Montour and Chris Tanev.
Chris Tanev's deep playoff run with the Dallas Stars this year and Brandon Montour's near-certain Stanley Cup victory underscore their valuable experience for the Leafs.
"It's no secret the Leafs will be targeting Florida's (Brandon) Montour if the pending free agent remains unsigned after this Cup final. Chris Tanev is another name that never left Treliving's radar.

It's conceivable the Leafs could land both with a combined spend of $12 million to $13 million (U.S.) of the roughly $19 million in cap space that's available to them. How different would the Leafs' blue line look next season with top-four pairings of Brandon Montour / Jake McCabe and Morgan Rielly / Chris Tanev?"
We'll soon find out if the Toronto Maple Leafs can execute these major acquisitions.
