Unless the Oilers can mount a miraculous four-game winning streak against the Panthers, this season will be deemed a disappointment.

Concerns among fans about the potential departure of either Leon Draisaitl or Connor McDavid in the event of not winning a Stanley Cup were alleviated by a reassuring new report.
Draisaitl and McDavid intend to remain with Edmonton for the long haul.
According to Frank Seravalli, both Draisaitl and McDavid have informed Oilers' management of their long-term commitment to Edmonton.
"Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid have reportedly made it clear to the Edmonton Oilers management/owners that they have no intentions of leaving or testing free agency, and want to re-sign long-term in Edmonton. Per Frank Seravalli."
Draisaitl's contract is set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season, and according to Bob Stauffer, discussions have already begun for an extension with the team.
