Just a matter of weeks ago, the Vancouver Canucks declared that J.T. Miller was not available via trade. with the star forward himself declaring that he's committed to Vancouver moving forward.
Now however, things have seemingly changed, with a report from Elliotte Friedman stating that the team are taking offers on both he and Elias Pettersson, with the New York Rangers quickly becoming a favourite to land the veteran star.
Now, Friedman has revealed a dark horse team to land Miller, noting that the Chicago Blackhawks should be a team to chase the veteran star to give Connor Bedard a good veteran leader and a superstar to play alongside.
It's unclear exactly what Chicago would offer that Vancouver wants and needs in a return for Miller, but if they want to give their young star the best talent to play alongside, than Miller certainly isn't a bad option at all.
In Vancouver, it appears the rivalry with Pettersson has gone too far, with some noting that it's effecting other people in the organization, and while Chicago aren't the most steady organization in the league, Miller is just the leader that this young team needs moving forward.
With plenty of salary cap space, the Blackhawks are likely to be in on players like Mitch Marner and Mikko Rantanen during the off-season in free agency, and if they can add Miller beforehand, it's safe to say that they'd finally have some elite level talent alongside No. 98, who is desperately calling for help.
