Former Maple Leaf and current Predator Ryan O'Reilly tried to persuade GM Barry Trotz to trade for Mitch Marner before his free agent spending spree.

However, before these moves, Ryan O'Reilly approached rookie GM Barry Trotz to discuss acquiring his former teammate Mitchell Marner from the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to a new report.
