The Montreal Canadiens have suffered a setback with the loss of promising forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard, who will miss the start of the 2024-25 season following surgery.
Yesterday, the Canadiens announced that Harvey-Pinard is expected to be sidelined for four months due to a leg injury.
Forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard underwent successful surgery on Thursday after suffering a broken leg. The recovery period for the 25-year-old winger is estimated to be four months.
#TSLH is reporting that Rafael Harvey-Pinard recently suffered an injury to his right knee during a recent sporting event with current & recent #Rocket players.
Harvey-Pinard was in uniform for only 45 games last season due to a couple of lower-body injuries that forced him to miss significant amount of action.
This could be bad news for the forward as his roster spot for the upcoming season was far from being locked in.
Harvey-Pinard had shown promise in the Canadiens' young roster, scoring 14 goals and 20 points in 34 games during the 2022-23 season following his NHL call-up.
Although his ice time was limited in the 2023-24 season, he played exclusively in the NHL when healthy. Moving forward, Harvey-Pinard will need to focus on staying healthy to secure a long NHL career.
