Elliotte Friedman suggested a potential trade involving Elias Pettersson between the Vancouver Canucks and the Buffalo Sabres.

Following a tough season start, Elias Pettersson is finally bringing his usual level of performance, tallying 26 points in 29 games.
Currently playing in the first year of his massive eight-season, $11,600,000 AAV contract extension in Vancouver, many people find his contribution underwhelming, which has led to multiple trade rumors.
Pettersson, 26, is an elite player, and if he were to be traded, the Canucks would need to receive an offer they can't refuse.
Elliotte Friedman shared his take on the matter, saying that the Buffalo Sabres should offer Dylan Cozens and Bowen Byram for Pettersson.
Here's what he said:
"I had some time on Sunday to think and I was thinking about the Sabres and I was thinking about Rick Tocchet and what he had to say on Saturday and reiterated on Sunday. I want to stress this is purely in my head, who says no? [Dylan] Cozens and Bowen Byram for Pettersson."
"Alright, some other stuff: Buffalo is getting calls on Dylan Cozens. This would terrify me if I were the Sabres, vultures circling overhead while player and team struggle.

Right-shot centre, 23 years old, two years removed from a 30-goal season. He's also signed for five more seasons at a $7.1M AAV, helping his value. I would be very, very careful with this because he's legitimately wanted."

Friedman later acknowledged that the Canucks would likely say no to that offer:
"If that was proposed I think that Vancouver is more likely to say no than Buffalo."

Fans are eager to see what will happen in these two organizations as we get closer to the trade deadline. At this point, it wouldn't be surprising to see at least a few blockbuster trades go down in the coming months.
