The Toronto Maple Leafs have started 2024/25 well, and now it appears Brad Treliving is eyeing a major addition as they push to make a Stanley Cup run.

After years of tinkering with their roster to make a run to the Stanley Cup, many believe the Toronto Maple Leafs may have found the formula in 2024/25, but it's safe to say they've still got some major changes to make.
One of the biggest weak spots on this team is down the middle, and while their top two lines have been rolling, it's clear that they would like to add some depth, specifically at the 3C spot.
Currently the team have Fraser Minten in the role, and while it's clear he has a great future in the NHL, the team are looking to win now, with The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta revealing that a new centre is their top trade priority.
This season already, Toronto have been linked to New York's Brock Nelson, and given his experience and his production into his 30's, he would be a fantastic pickup for them.
Last month, The Athletic linked Toronto to many more centre's however, with the likes of Yanni Gourde, Nazem Kadri and Mikael Granlund among the potential additions for Toronto.
On December 20 this year, a trade freeze begins for the NHL over the Christmas period, so while it's unlikely that Toronto make a move in the next five days, it makes perfect sense for them to look to upgrade in the coming weeks.
While the Maple Leafs fans have got their hopes higher and higher every single year, this season feels like a true change for them, and with their net minders rolling, if they can make a huge pickup down the middle, it could make them legitimate Stanley Cup contenders.
