Senators forward Claude Giroux and his family have fallen victim to a serious crime
Last night, while Claude Giroux and his spouse were soundly asleep, burglars broke into their house and took their car.
A startling experience awaited Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux early on Wednesday morning. On her personal social media, his wife Ryanne Giroux described how on Tuesday night, burglars broke into their home and took Claude's car. Her post sought advice or assistance in recovering the vehicle from other Ottawa residents who may have gone through similar experiences.
Claude seemed to validate the incident in a humorous yet irritated manner by replying to his wife's post with a face-palming emoji. The latter post eventually went viral, and 37 minutes after Ryanne's message went live, the Ottawa Police Service responded, indicating that they were aware of the situation and that they would be willing to help, after the Giroux family had been unable to contact anyone for assistance.

In another Instagram post, she revealed that the car was a Land Rover.
Giroux has deep roots in Ottawa, even at the young age of 34. He played junior hockey with the Cumberland Grads and Gatineau Olympiques in the capital region from 2004 to 2008 before turning pro.
Just as Giroux is getting ready for his third season with the Senators, this unexpected event takes place. Before the 2022-2023 season, Giroux inked a three-year deal worth $19.5 million, solidifying his place in Ottawa's starting lineup. Playing in all 82 regular-season games, he scored 21 goals and provided 43 assists last season, demonstrating his major contribution to the team.
Although this stolen car incident is a disappointing setback, Giroux is focused on growing his career and helping the Senators win more games. Hopefully, his car situation will be fixed quickly so he can put this setback behind him and concentrate on the upcoming season.
