Following the Stanley Cup Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers, the NHL, led by Gary Bettman, has implemented new rule changes.

In a memorable Stanley Cup Finals, Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers were defeated by Matthew Tkachuk's Florida Panthers, propelled by Sergei Bobrovsky's stellar performance.
In response to the playoffs, Gary Bettman and the NHL rule committee have enacted four changes:
1. Expansion of coach's challenge for puck-over-glass (only to challenge a called penalty, not to put one on the board).

2. Attacking players now get warned instead of removed from face off following an icing call.

3. Inadvertently knocking the net off rule (64.A iv) will now also apply to goalies (if they or anyone on the team does it, attacking team gets to choose face off location in o-zone and defending team can't change).

4. Rule 75.3 instituted for unsportsmanlike conduct-offending team will be first warned (and then penalized if they didn't heed the warning) for players hanging over the boards prior to a line change.
One rule, in particular, has garnered attention: Number 3 will hold goalies accountable for intentionally dislodging the net from its posts, a situation underscored by Matt Murray of the Toronto Maple Leafs last season.
Gary Bettman has reached his limit with goalies attempting to gain an unfair advantage. The time for tolerance is over.
