Unfortunately, the Winnipeg Jets suffered a 5-2 defeat against Utah HC which visibly embarrassed their head coach Scott Arniel.
Although the Jets were down 4-0 during the game, they did manage to score two goals in the third period, giving a little hope to the fans.
However, it was clear during the game that the Jets made no effort to create dangerous scoring opportunities for themselves and never challenged Utah's goalkeeper, Connor Ingram.
In his comments after the game, Arniel was particularly blunt saying the team was having issues but at the same time, taking full responsibility.
The Jets are having issues concerning their offensive output as they have continuously depended on power-play opportunities.
Many forwards such as Kyle Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers struggle with scoring chances based on rushing the puck as defensemen allow themselves to sit back.
These errors led to further challenges on defense with Utah scoring three key goals against the rush, making use of the turnovers.
Although the Jets are trying to trade some defensemen it is certain that they need to reinforce their top-six forwards as well. This may include the promotion of Chibrikov or trade for a forward to change the offensive dynamics of the team.
As the weeks go on and the trade deadline draws nearer, fans and experts will be keeping their eyes peeled on what type of moves the Jets may possibly make.
