Winnipeg Jets Prospect Could Be a Key Trade Chip to Strengthen Current Lineup, Per THN
As per THN, one of the top prospects of the Winnipeg Jets could be dangled by the team in order to add pieces to make their current roster stronger.
One of the Winnipeg Jets prospects is one of nine players Tony Ferrari of The Hockey News suggests could become a trading chip for the team.
The 18th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, he wowed with 46 goals in 59 contests for a disappointing Owen Sound Attack group and its lackluster roster.
Following an offseason move to the Oshawa Generals, the 19-year-old Colby Barlow struggled initially but has steadied well. A four-goal, five-point outing in a contest recently put him in range for 40 markers and 68 points in 65 games.
Nikita Chibrikov, Brad Lambert, and Brayden Yager, a group of forwards, stand at a hovering level at NHL prominence, and with a deep playoff run in mind, the Jets could regard trading Barlow for a shot at a championship.
"They have a few prospects they could look to deal," said Ferrari. "Brad Lambert has been so good at times, but he has moments when he disappears. Nikita Chibrikov is incredibly skilled and fun to watch, and he looked solid in his stint with the big club earlier this year, but it was just announced that he would miss the rest of the year with a lower-body injury. Colby Barlow has plenty of hype around him thanks to his north-south attacking style of play, which brings a bit of grit and a wicked shot. Barlow seems like the prospect they would likely use to try and bolster the lineup for a run."

Many insiders believe Winnipeg takes this year to be "all-in," and will make a move with any asset for a shot at a championship.
The value in a skilled forward prospect in Barlow could become paramount in securing a game-changer in a player, and make the Jets a headliner in playoff contention.
