Over the past few years, there's been many reports of a potential Sidney Crosby deal, but now a top insider has revealed the Penguins have no intention of a trade.
Sidney Crosby's future in Pittsburgh has been a major topic of discussion in recent years, and while there's been signs a trade could eventuate, nothing has come to fruition at this point as he rolls through year 20 with the Penguins.
With the team at a cross roads, many expected the discussions to be brought up again, especially after people like Paul Bissonnette pointed at the moves of the Colorado Avalanche as the perfect setup to a deal involving No. 87.
Now however, TSN's Chris Johnston has shut all of that talk down, as he has revealed that unless something huge changes in the near future, Crosby doesn't want too, and won't go anywhere.
Unless something changes -- and at this point I have absolutely ZERO reason to believe it will -- Sidney Crosby isn't being traded out of Pittsburgh. He's an untouchable as far as the Pens are concerned, plus he's got a no-movement clause and no desire to be dealt.
After inking a two-year extension that begins in 2025/26, likely the last deal he'll sign in the NHL, it's clear that Crosby is dedicated to the only organization he's ever known for the rest of his career, and even if playing with Nathan MacKinnon must be alluring, he wants to stay in Pittsburgh.
After being drafted in 2005 by the Penguins, Crosby has played in 1,322 games and counting with the team and won three Stanley Cups, so while fans may want to see him chase that fourth ring on another team, he's remaining loyal, and unless something changes, he'll retire in the black and gold.
