This evening reports are coming in fast that the Chicago Blackhawks and Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to a three team trade that will end with Hall being a member of the Hurricanes.
Suspicion began to heighten when Hall was healthy scratched by the Blackhawks and not much was known about the reason why.
Now it seems the reason will be a trade with Hall heading to a new home for a package of players that is still in the process of being finalized.
According to a major update, this deal will include the Carolina Hurricanes receiving superstar forward Mikko Rantanen from the Colorado Avalanche.
This trade will also reportedly send Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas as the major piece heading to the Colorado Avalanche.
According to the final reports a trade package looks to be done with the following details.
With both Rantanen and Necas, they were players who were nearing the end of their contracts with their respective teams.
In the case of Necas, he signed a bridge deal over the summer to return to Carolina but before that deal was signed there was a ton of drama that led to trade rumors surrounding him.
For Rantanen, things were less ominous when it came to his situation with many around the NHL assuming the two sides would agree to a deal before the season ended.
Despite the belief around the league clearly, the Avalanche and Rantanen were further apart than many anticipated leading him to be traded to the Hurricanes and looking for a brand new start in a new organization.
Now both the Avalanche and the Hurricanes will continue their path toward the Stanley Cup Finals and hope that they come out on top looking like the smarter team at the end of the day.
While this trade will be instantly analyzed by everyone in the hockey community the ultimate test will come in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as this season is Stanley Cup or bust for both major players in this deal.
As more details continue to come in we will provide updates on the full return and trade between the teams involved.
