After entering the 2024/25 season as a Stanley Cup contender in the West, everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong for the Vancouver Canucks, with the team a potential seller ahead of the March 7th trade deadline.
While we know that both Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller have been made available by the team, it now appears that Brock Boeser could be an intriguing name to watch as well, at least according to reporter Nick Kypreos.
With Boeser set to hit free agency in the summer, their best bet may be to move him and get as much of a return as they can, with so many contending teams around the league likely to pay a premium to land a 40 goal scorer.
In 36 games this season, Boeser has been impressive once more, tallying 15 goals and 27 points, and with a palatable $6.65 million salary cap hit for the remainder of the year, there would be plenty of interest from contenders around the league.
This doesn't mean that he's definitely on the move, as the Canucks could definitely move out Pettersson or Miller and hand that money to Boeser in an extension, but with a deal not yet done, it's more likely than not that he'll hit free agency in the summer whether he's traded or not.
As of right now, the Canucks sit just one point out of the Western Conference Wild Card, and if they can find their momentum there's a chance that they're buyers rather than sellers, but right now, all signs point towards the team moving at least one of their big names.
