Tristan Jarry was waived for the second time this season on Wednesday, and now we know his future with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization.

After another major period of struggle this season, Tristan Jarry was placed on waivers again on Wednesday, and even with three years left on his current deal, this makes his future with the Pittsburgh Penguins very unclear moving forward.

The 29-year old has allowed a 3.26 GAA on the season while posting an .886 save percentage through 22 games, and given that Joel Blomqvist is seen as the future in Pittsburgh, it made sense for the team to move on from him.

Now, we know Jarry's immediate fate after being waived, as it has now been revealed that he has passed through waivers and will head back to the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, likely for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.

Given that Jarry is owed $5.35 million a season for the next three seasons after this one, it's no surprise that teams around the league didn't want to take a chance on him, as it has been a few years since Jarry has shown the ability to be a consistent No. 1 at the NHL level.

With so much time left on his deal, it's unclear as to what the Penguins play is here, as it only takes one injury for the team to recall him to the NHL, but if things go well for them, it's unlikely we see him in the league again in 2024/25.

After such a promising start to his career, this is another setback for a player that's struggled mightily this season, but with the clear talent and age still on his side, don't count Jarry out yet, even if he's likely not going to see much action moving forward at the top level.
