The Boston Bruins have reportedly joined the fray as a team interested in trading for one of Vancouver's top forwards.

The Canucks season has gone fairly well so far, but the drama surrounding JT Miller and Elias Pettersson has certainly brought some rain to their parade.

For months now, speculation and rumors have consumed the team as they look how to move forward.

Recently, JT Miller was linked to the New York Rangers by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.

Similarly, Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin has made comments suggesting that Pettersson could be on his way out.

NHL reporter Marco D'Amico has recently spoken with both Patrik Allvin and Don Sweeney of the Boston Bruins.

He confirmed that the two teams are in discussions about a possible trade between the two clubs.

It almost goes without saying that the players in discussion have to be Elias Pettersson and JT Miller.

D'Amico has stated that he believes the Bruins would be more inclined to go after Pettersson due to his age.

"I don't know who for sure, but I know the Bruins want to get deeper and younger up the middle and not older. That seems like Pettersson, but it's not about who they want; it's about who the Canucks decide to move on from."

Of course, it would stand to reason that the Canucks would be more inclined to keep Pettersson for the same reason.

That being said, both players are on long-term contracts, Pettersson having just one extra year on his deal over Miller.

As such, for a team like the Bruins Miller's age may not be that big of a factor.

Perhaps this means that Miller is more likely to be heading to Boston, but we will just have to wait and see how this drama concludes.
