There's a compelling rumor circulating in the NHL trade market, involving Shane Wright.

David Pagnotta, a reputable source suggests that teams are eyeing to acquire Wright before the 2024 draft.

Remember back in the 2022 draft in Montreal when fans were eager for Shane Wright. Juraj Slafkovsky was chosen instead and it turned out to be a success?

Now what if Kent Hughes brings them together again?

Personally I'm a bit skeptical. Its clear that Montreal is keen on adding a top 6 forward especially since they are familiar, with Shane Wright.

Could there be a trade involving Shane Wright?

According to Pagnotta teams have their sights set on him.

This development, in the NHL is worth keeping an eye on as it unfolds.

Although its not confirmed whether Kent Hughes' team is among those parties, it's possible he's currently focused on player situations like Trevor Zegras and Martin Necas.

Pagnotta also notes that the Seattle Krakens general manager may not be inclined to trade Wright.

Shane Wright, who was selected as the 4th overall pick in 2022, is a 20 year old player who has achieved 47 points in 59 games this season with the Krakens AHL affiliate (and an additional 5 points in 6 AHL playoff games).

In his NHL career so far, he has accumulated 7 points in 16 games played.

This situation could present an opportunity, for the Canadiens in terms of trades.
