As per journalist Arpon Basu on BPM Sports, recently the Anaheim Ducks are indeed requesting Kaiden Guhle or David Reinbacher as part of a deal involving Trevor Zegras.
That might explain why there's speculation that Kent Hughes may be hesitant to meet the demands to acquire Zegras.
The Canadiens GM could put together an offer, possibly involving Jayden Struble plus a late first-round pick and a promising prospect, like Owen Beck. However it remains uncertain if Pat Verbeek would find such a proposal appealing.
Ultimately it hinges on his assessment of the Canadiens prospects. Trevor Zegras is a 23 year player standing at 6 feet and weighing 185 pounds, with a total of 154 points in his 211 NHL games. He was drafted 9th overall.
David Reinbacher, aged 19 stands tall at 6 feet 3 inches and weighs in at 210 pounds. He has earned 5 points in his 11 games with the Laval Rocket after being selected 5th overall pick.
Kaiden Guhle, aged 22 and also standing at a height of 6 feet 3 inches, while weighing in at around 200 pounds, has accumulated a total of 40 points across his career span of playing in the NHL for a total of 114 games. He was chosen as the 16th overall pick.
Personally, I wouldn't consider trading Guhle or Reinbacher for Zegras, even though I admire the talent that this American forward possesses. What are your thoughts, on this matter?
