The New York Rangers have been very busy as of late, and after trading away their captain, they've now locked in their star goaltender for a long time to come.
The New York Rangers organization has been in disarray the last few weeks, but now we may finally be seeing some clarity from General Manager Chris Drury.
According to ESPN's Emily Kaplan, the deal will carry a salary cap hit of $11.5 to $12 million per season, and while the team haven't yet announced the deal, it's signed according to Kaplan and Insider Kevin Weekes.

Despite all of the talk surrounding the team, Shesterkin remains locked in, and through the first five years of his career, it appears he's on pace to put together one of the best careers in NHL history.
In 231 games played, Shesterkin has tallied an impressive 143-68-18 record, posting a 2.47 GAA and a .920 save percentage, making him arguably the best net minder in the NHL.
Now, he's being compensated for that play, as the new deal makes him the highest paid goaltender in AAV in NHL history, surpassing the $10.5 million per year deal signed by the Montreal Canadiens and
Carey Price.
With the $8 million cleared up in the Trouba deal, it opened up the Rangers to make a contract like this official, and while the team are still looking to shake things up, they can now count on stability in net for years to come with No. 31 leading the charge.
