A reporter set the record straight on the rumors about the Montreal Canadiens looking for goaltenders on the trade market.

It's no secret that this season has been disappointing for many Habs fans. Once again, the team is still at the bottom of the NHL rankings with a 4-9-2 record.
The Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes was called out many times for not helping his team this season yet, with the offseason acquisition Patrik Laine still sidelined due to an injury.
One of the team's biggest issues has been the number of goals allowed so far this season. Their record is the worst in the NHL with 62 goals against in 15 games.
Both Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau have struggled with constancy this year, with 0.888 and 0.861 save percentages, as well as 3.51 and 4.38 goals-against average.
There is a general belief that the Canadiens should be looking for a goaltender on the market this season.
In a recent paper, he wrote that the Canadiens should target a goaltender, but there's no urgency to do it this season.
In his own words:
"The Canadiens should be considering an upgrade in goal."

"There's no urgency to bring in a goaltender this season, but it must be a priority if the Canadiens are poised to make a move next season."

If the Canadiens goaltenders manage to find their rhythm and bounce back from their tough start to the season, it would be surprising to see the Habs make a move.
With prospects Jakub Dobes and Jacob Fowler both having success in the AHL and NCAA, it would make very little sense for the Canadiens to target another goalie at the moment.
Dobes and Fowler are expected to play big roles in the organization down the line. This year, the Canadiens are still rebuilding. There shouldn't be urgency in making a move now, especially if it involves sacrificing the team's assets for immediate success.
