Former Stanley Cup Champion Jonathan Marchessault gets traded to the Ottawa Senators for Josh Norris in the latest fan trade rumor circulating online.

The following hypothetical trade rumor from a hockey fan generates debate. Josh Norris of the Ottawa Senators goes to the Nashville Predators while Jonathan Marchessault gets moved to Ottawa.
Of course, this is mere speculation, but an interesting concept of where both teams would gain something from this. We will also discuss who might get the better deal from this trade.

Josh Norris is a promising young center who has shown a ton of potential with the Senators.
A two-way center with a real scoring touch, Norris would give Nashville a very solid option down the middle.
He also provides good skating and a high hockey IQ to make smart plays in all three zones, so he could fit rather seamlessly into Nashville's traditionally defense-minded system.
Still only 25 years old, he has plenty of room for growth and might be a long-term addition to the Predators.
Norris will bring a consistent presence down the middle to Nashville, balancing an offensive contribution with strong defensive responsibility.
In return, the Senators would get a gritty, veteran presence in 33-year-old Jonathan Marchessault.
It's quite well known that Marchessault scores and has a competitive drive. He's shown to be a real clutch performer, especially on those playoff runs he went on with the Golden Knights a few years ago.
Although still a fairly young core in Ottawa, he does bring that veteran presence onto the ice and should therefore be able to give them some added scoring punch.
He brings a history of performing under pressure, which may be what helps push this Senators team over the top in hopes of a playoff push, which is something the team's fans have not seen since the Sens' magical 2017 run which ended in double overtime against the Pittsburgh Penguins in game 7.
As far as who "wins" this trade, Ottawa may have the short-term edge because they add a proven playoff performer in Jonathan Marchessault to lead their young team.
Still, long-term, Josh Norris's potential and age would give Nashville a clear benefit in the long run.
The Senators may benefit right away a little more, but with someone like Norris, the Predators go into the future in better shape.
