Don Sweeney affirms that Brad Marchand will not be traded
Boston Bruins' general manager Don Sweeney firmly believes that captain Brad Marchand will remain with the team until his retirement.
Brad Marchand, drafted in 2006 has established himself as a Boston Bruins legend playing in, more than 1000 games and clinching the 2011 Stanley Cup victory.
After Patrice Bergeron retired this past season, he was awarded the captaincy for his devotion to Boston. During the Bruins' season-ending news conference today, general manager Don Sweeney discussed his plans regarding Marchand.
Sweeney on #NHLBruins Brad Marchand:
«He will be a lifelong Bruin.»
Marchand has one year left on his contract so he could choose to call it a career after the season or he might opt to continue playing. It's uncertain whether he will sign a contract this summer. Sweeney will definitely do everything possible to ensure Marchand remains with the Bruins for the long haul.
