Signs pointing to imminent retirement for Gabriel Landeskog
Gabriel Landeskog has not played hockey since 2022 and is expected to hold a press conference tomorrow potentially confirming his retirement from hockey.
Just now it was announced that Gabriel Landeskog would be holding a press conference tomorrow morning.
#Avs GM Chris MacFarland and captain Gabriel Landeskog will meet with media at 9:30 AM tomorrow.
Fans immediately jumped to the conclusion that Landeskog would be retiring from hockey.
Landeskog has not played since winning the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022 and has now missed his second straight season. There is potential that he may not be retiring but at the moment, all signs point towards him retiring and handing the captaincy off to Nathan MacKinnon.
Landeskog has played in 738 career games scoring 248 goals and 571 points along the way. He was originally the second overall pick of the Avalanche in 2011 and has been their captain since 2012.
