A few weeks prior to the renowned Las Vegas NHL Draft in 2024, a lot of people are attempting to guess Kent Hughes' upcoming move.

Though it's a topic of frequent discussion, general manager of the Canadiens has never disguised his desire to close a new pact like to the Kirby Dach/Alex Newhook arrangement.
Talking about it is commonplace when the General Manager makes public remarks about it.
Thus, it is reasonable to anticipate that Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes will be involved in the trading market and searching for their next Kirby Dach.
In the trade market, names like Trevor Zegras, Marco Rossi, Martin Necas, and Nikolaj Ehlers are already making an appearance.

A Kent Hughes deal like to that of Kirby Dach or Alex Newhook? David Ettedgui, a player agent, anticipates much more!

Here is what he had to say about it on BPM Sports.
«I am 100% convinced they will make a big trade. I hear people talking about them making a Dach-like trade... Forget it! This summer, if they can, and they will do everything, it will be an established and proven Top-6 NHL player around 24-25 years old and no older than 26 years old.

It won't be a project. It will be a real Top-6 player.»

- David Ettedgui

That seems really promising! Ettedgui goes one step further, suggesting that the extremely talented young defender Adam Engstrom may be the guy traded away in a summer trade by the Canadiens, along with a first-round selection and another player.
To come! The NHL Draft and June 28th are approaching!
We eagerly await the announcement from the Montreal Canadiens.
