The Ottawa Senators have dealt backup goaltender Kevin Mandolese to the Colorado Avalanche, with draft picks also changing hands in the transaction.
The Avalanche will receive the Senators' 7th-round pick in the 2026 draft, while sending their own 6th-round pick from the same draft to Ottawa. This move allows the Senators to alleviate some salary cap pressure, as they are not acquiring any additional players in the trade.
Roster update: The #Sens have acquired a 26 sixth-round pick from @Avalanche in exchange for a 26 seventh-round pick and goaltender Kevin Mandolese.
Mandolese last appeared in the NHL during the 2022-23 season for the Sens, appearing in three games achieving an impressive .916 save percentage in those outings. With the recent contract extension of Mads Sogaard, the addition of Linus Ullmark, and the presence of Anton Forsberg, there was simply no longer a spot for Mandolese in Ottawa's goaltending lineup.
