The Stars have a big hole to fill with Tyler Seguin set to miss the rest of the regular season after undergoing surgery.
While the team has a lot of depth, general manager Jim Nill could be interested in adding a forward and a defenseman to his lineup ahead of the trade deadline.
Daily Faceoff's Jeff Marek, who already mentioned that the Stars are looking to make a move on the trade market soon, discussed that matter with his colleague Colby Cohen, who stated that the Calgary Flames could offer the Stars exactly what the team is looking for.
According to Cohen, the Stars could be interested in Nazem Kadri and Rasmus Andersson, the right-handed defenseman.
Cohen added that both of them aren't "splashy" players, but have what it takes to help a team win in the playoffs.
In his own words:
This season, Kadri, 34, scored 18 points, including nine goals, in 29 games with the Flames. He has four seasons left on his seven-year, seven million AAV contract in Calgary.
As for Andersson, the 28-year-old defenseman tallies 15 points in 29 games this season and has a -5 rating. He is set to enter free agency in July 2026, when his $4.55 million AAV deal expires.
Many teams could be interested in both of these players. If the Stars want them, they'll need to make the best offer to Calgary.
