The Anaheim Ducks have a deal in place to trade defenseman Cam Fowler to the St. Lous Blues, as per NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.

It would appear Anaheim is trying to mix things up a bit, as reports from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman are that the Ducks have dealt veteran defenseman Cam Fowler to the St. Louis Blues.
Fowler was drafted 12th overall by the Ducks back in 2010 and has been a staple in the Anaheim defense with his great skating, puck-moving skills, and leadership.
He has averaged large chunks of minutes for quite some time now, chipping in offensively and mentoring younger teammates throughout his career.
This move serves as just another omen that the Anaheim club wants to continue to sell off assets in rebuild mode with the hope of bringing in more youth and more prospects.
To the Blues, Cam Fowler adds depth to the backend of their blue line rotation, as he is a player that can play in all situations, which in turn complements that power play nicely.
Although Anaheim did not provide the details of the full package they have received in return, the safe assumption is that it includes what they need to satisfy their longer-term strategic requirements.
Either way, the deal suggests the commitment of both franchises to solve both their current and future needs.
Update:
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman is reporting the details of the return package. It appears that the Ducks have also traded a fourth-round pick to the Blues as well, and in return, they are getting a second-round pick and a prospect.
The Ducks are also retaining 38.5 percent of Fowler's contract.
