On Monday, two players hit the NHL waiver wire including the Vegas Golden Knights 2021 second-round pick Daniil Chayka.
We have an update to share about the NHL Waivers. Indeed, two players are now available to all 32 teams.
The insider Elliotte Friedman shared a post on X in which he announced that the Golden Knights placed Daniil Chayka on waivers with the purpose of contract termination, while the Carolina Hurricanes placed the veteran goalie Dustin Tokarski.
The Golden Knights drafted Chayka 38th overall in 2021, but the player never gave them a good reason to give him a shot in the NHL.

He scored only 16 points in over 120 games with the Henderson Silver Knights in the AHL and was even demoted to the ECHL this year.
Much more was expected from the 23-year-old defenseman, and his luck seems to have run out in Vegas.
Things are a bit different in Dustin Tokarski's case.
The 35-year-old goalie signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes after showing his talent in the AHL, and he had to be placed on waivers to keep playing in the AHL.
General Manager Eric Tulski commented on his acquisition, notably speaking out about
Frederik Andersen's injury:
"Dustin has played very well for the Wolves this season. Given the injury to Frederik Andersen, we felt it was important to add to our depth at the goaltending position and this gives us another option with significant NHL experience."
He took part in five games for the Chicago Wolves, the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate team, this season, tallying a 0.933 SV% and a 1.61 GAA through a 4-1-0 record.
With
Pyotr Kochetkov returning from his injury, Tokarski will continue to play in the AHL for the moment, where he could play an important role in the team's success.
