The Gaudreau family, mourning the sudden loss of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, has expressed profound gratitude for the outpouring of support they've received in the days following the tragedy.

Last week, a devastating accident claimed the lives of NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, sending shockwaves through the hockey community and beyond. The Gaudreau family has been surrounded by love and support during this unimaginable time, and they have shared a message of thanks to all those who have reached out.
The family has embraced a powerful slogan in their memory: "We Are Gaudreau Strong."
In a heartfelt post, Jim Gaudreau, uncle of the brothers, took to Facebook to acknowledge the overwhelming kindness shown by fans, friends, and the hockey community. He mentioned that memorials have been set up near the crash site and at the Hollydell Ice Arena, where Johnny and Matthew first learned to skate. Additionally, people have been leaving hockey sticks outside their homes as a tribute, symbolizing the impact the brothers had on the sport and their communities.

The tragedy was particularly poignant as it happened just one day before their sister Katie's wedding. In a moving tribute on social media, Katie shared her love for her brothers, writing;
"To know these two was to love these two. There are absolutely no words I have to express the bond my family shared. The entire world knows there would never have been a John without Matty or Matty without John. The absolute best big brothers a little girl could have asked for. This will never be a goodbye post because I will never stop saying your names and honoring you both. I'll take the best care of mom, dad, Kristen, Mer, Madeline, and your babies."

Johnny Gaudreau, affectionately known as "Johnny Hockey," was a seven-time NHL All-Star, while Matthew had built a career in the ECHL and AHL. Their loss is felt deeply within the sports community, with tributes pouring in from fans, teams, and celebrities alike.
