The Cape Breton Eagles had a close call this week as three of their players, Angelo Fullerton, Lucas Romeo, and Brayden Schmitt, were involved in a car accident.

The hockey community has seen its share of tragedies lately, and this incident could have added to that list. The players were on their way to the city for the upcoming QMJHL season when their vehicle was involved in a scary accident. Fortunately, the team announced that the players sustained only minor injuries.
This was a scary situation of course, but as an organization, we are relieved no one got seriously hurt. Right now, we are awaiting further updates from doctors, and we will take the situation one day at a time. We are grateful that the occupants from the other vehicles involved were not seriously injured as well, and we thank the medical professionals at St. Martha's Regional Hospital and the local first responders for their care. - Sylvain Couturier

The team's general manager, Sylvain Couturier, expressed his relief that the situation wasn't worse, and acknowledged the excellent care provided by the medical professionals and first responders.
As the players recover, this incident serves as a stark reminder to everyone about the importance of road safety. With the QMJHL season approaching, the Eagles are undoubtedly thankful that they won't have to face another tragedy. The hockey world narrowly avoided mourning yet another senseless loss.

Everyone involved in the accident is expected to recover fully, but this event underscores the importance of taking care on the road to avoid unnecessary tragedies in the future.
