Sean Higgins, the drunk driver responsible for the deaths of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, is now facing serious charges and could be sentenced to a lengthy prison term.
It appears that Higgins should prepare for a long stay behind bars, as the charges he faces could lead to a 20-year prison sentence. According to a recent post on Twitter/X from a user with a legal background, Higgins is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, each carrying a potential 10-year sentence.
To be frank, 20 years hardly seems sufficient for the devastation caused by Higgins. His reckless decision to drink and aggressively pass on the shoulder not only senselessly took two lives but also shattered two families, leaving their loved ones without husbands and fathers forever.
While it's still early in the legal process, additional charges could still be brought against Higgins. Currently, however, it's expected that his bail will be set between $50,000 and $150,000 if he seeks temporary release while awaiting his hearing before the judge.
