If this continues, Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving may be forced to make a trade earlier than he wanted to, and James Mirtle of The Athletic has listed eight targets he believes would be a good fit.

With pros and cons listed for each of them, the eight trade possibilities to add more depth to the team include :Yanni Gourde (Seattle Kraken), Trent Frederic (Boston Bruins), Radek Faksa (St. Louis Blues), Sean Kuraly (Columbus Blue Jackets), Brock Nelson 9New York Islanders), Nick Bjugstad (Utah HC), and Mikael Granlund (San Jose Sharks).
The list also includes to former members of the Toronto Maple Leafs in Nazem Kadri (Calgary Flames), and Ryan O'Reilly (Nashville Predators).
The Isles' Brock Nelson has been listed as a trade target for the Toronto Maple Leafs by another insider recently. Outside of that, the most interesting name besides Trent Frederic, is Nazem Kadri.
Nazem Kadri spent his first 10 years in the league with the Toronto Maple Leafs after being drafted by the team 7th overall in 2009. As fans know, there were several ups and downs over that time.
