CapFriendly issues final statement before officially closing down
The popular hockey reference site CapFriendly issued their final official statement before closing down, following their sale to the Washington Capitals.
Approximately a month ago, it was confirmed that CapFriendly would no longer be publicly accessible, as the Washington Capitals opted to buy the website.
Many people used it for team financial details and player contracts.
Sadly, they'll now have to seek this information elsewhere.
In breaking news, the website has officially shut down. A visit to capfriendly.com shows that nothing is available except a statement from the site managers.
Here's the statement:
"Thank You!
After 9 years of late nights, early mornings, missed holidays and family events while diligently updating the website and developing tools, the CapFriendly team has made the decision to begin a new chapter and challenge!
We couldn't be more thankful for the support and interest in CapFriendly our fans have shown over the years.
