Jeff Marek and Sportsnet's time has come to an end, as Rogers, the parent company, has officially severed ties with him following the NHL entry draft.

Elliotte Friedman has long been regarded as the top insider in the NHL, and his podcast with Jeff Marek has been particularly notable, becoming a trusted source of hockey news for fans.
However, Marek's recent absence from the show has raised speculation, and reports indicate that he will be departing from Sportsnet altogether.
Fans were concerned over the last few weeks as Jeff Marek suddenly disappeared following the NHL entry draft. No one knew why, and nothing was mentioned anywhere online, on television or on the radio. Now, the silence has been broken, as Sportsnet has just revealed Marek will be no more.
Details are scarce but multiple sources tell me that for unconfirmed draft reasons, @JeffMarek will likely be no longer performing duties at Sportnet hockey. Details to follow. This would appear to include his podcast duties too.
The social media posts indicate that there is little information about Marek's situation behind the scenes, but his future seems to be shifting away from Sportsnet. Throughout his tenure, Marek has introduced a refreshing perspective to hockey coverage, and his podcast has been well-received by listeners for its engaging and insightful content.
Fans have also noticed his absence on social media:
Jeff Marek of 32 Thoughts has completely disappeared from the face of the earth since the evening of the draft. Perhaps he's just very dedicated to his summer break, but I'm starting to wonder if Sportsnet did something really dumb.

If they did, Vegas should find a job for him.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the official announcement regarding the reasons behind this decision. In the meantime, it's reassuring to know that Marek is safe and well. Nonetheless, it remains a very unusual and abrupt departure.
