The Toronto Marlies have secured a new contract for Robert Mastrosimone, one of their standout players from last season.

Mastrosimone, who was a rookie at 22, will return for his sophomore year with the AHL club.
The 23-year-old forward made a notable impact during his debut season with the Marlies, and he'll look to build on his impressive performance as he heads into his second year.
Drafted 54th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Mastrosimone was not re-signed by Detroit after his previous contract expired.
Hearing that the Toronto Marlies have re-signed Robert Mastrosimone to an AHL contract.

The 23-year-old recorded stellar underlying numbers in a bottom-six role as a rookie.

Mastrosimone was drafted 54th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 2019. DET opted not to sign him.
Mastrosimone is still seeking his first NHL appearance. Although it's been five years since he was drafted in the 2nd round, he has yet to receive an opportunity in the NHL. With a standout year with the Marlies and the Red Wings not re-signing him, there may be an opportunity for another NHL team to step in and offer him a chance.

At just 23, Mastrosimone's future remains promising. With one team's chance, he could emerge as a valuable asset at the NHL level. For now, the Marlies are thrilled to continue benefiting from his skills.
