Two teams have come out as contenders, to try and secure Tyler Toffoli's signature this summer, after he expressed his desire to leave the Winnipeg Jets on July 1st.
Following an exit in the first round of playoffs in Winnipeg, Toffoli openly admitted that he had no intentions of renewing his contract with the Jets.
During his time in Winnipeg he faced challenges in maintaining his level of scoring output. He recorded 11 points in 18 regular season games, along with two points in five playoff appearances.
Despite facing difficulties towards the end of the season, Toffoli is eager to join a team this summer. David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period disclosed that two of his former teams, the Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings could be interested in acquiring him.
"There was some talk of maybe suggestions that New Jersey would go after him and he'd want to go back. I don't get that sense. I think he's going to explore other options. I know LA and Vancouver tried to get him in the season, two former teams. I think they're going to push for him hard."
Several teams are expected to be on the lookout for a goal scoring winger on July 1st, some who could potentially show interest in signing Toffoli.
Tyler Toffoli is not just a forward who can make a difference in games, but he's also known as a really friendly guy that any team would be lucky to have in their locker room.
