Nick Robertson will not play in tonight's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the 8-0-0, undefeated Jets, according to a shocking announcement made by Craig Berube.

In anticipation of their upcoming matchup with the Winnipeg Jets, the Toronto Maple Leafs took to the ice this morning to practice. There were some notable adjustments made up front among the lines as the team sought to fine-tune things. Knies, Matthews, and Marner made up the top line; this group has produced a lot of the Leafs' success. Alongside Tavares and Nylander, Pacioretty provided experience and firepower on the second line. McCann, Domi, and Holmberg were in the third line farther down, and Lorentz, Kampf, and the gritty presence of Reaves completed the fourth unit.
On defense, the Leafs iced a mix of new and seasoned players. McCabe skated with Tanev, and Morgan Rielly teamed up with Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Timmins and Benoit worked together as the last defensive duo, giving the Toronto blue line some depth. Woll and Stolarz were in the nets during practice, and it is still unclear who will start against the Flyers.
Nick Robertson, who appears as a healthy scratch for the first time this season, is the surprise. Robertson, who has made nine appearances and only scored one goal, will watch his team tonight from the bench. Pontus Holmberg will take his place as the young forward seeks to establish himself. Given that Toronto's forwards are reliable, Robertson's meager offensive contribution most likely played a role in this choice.

Maple Leafs Practice Lineups

Knies - Matthews - Marner
Pacioretty - Tavares - Nylander
McCann - Domi - Holmberg
Lorentz - Kampf - Reaves

Rielly - OEL

In an attempt to boost their offense and special teams tonight, the Leafs have made a number of changes. The team appears to be hoping that this lineup, which includes Pontus Holmberg and Nick Robertson in addition to redesigned power play units, will be just what they need to defeat the unbeaten Winnipeg Jets. We'll be keeping an eye on the new line combinations and any changes that could give Toronto the boost they've been looking for.
