The Vancouver Canucks promote twins Daniel and Henrik Sedin
Canucks legends Henrik and Daniel Sedin, part of the front office, are set to take on expanded roles following promotion, revealed by NHL Insider Frank Seravalli.
Meanwhile, Yogi �vejkovsk� has ascended to the role of assistant coach for the Canucks.
Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin expressed that the advancement of the Sedin twins will greatly benefit the franchise.
«Including the Sedin's more in our day-to-day coaching duties will be hugely beneficial to our group both on and off the ice,» Allvin said. «Both Daniel and Henrik bring a very unique perspective and competitive mind set to our staff.»
The Sedin's, considered one of NHLs best brother duos were drafted together in 1998 and played a combined total of 17 seasons for the team.
Henrik, recognized for his playmaking skills accumulated a total of 1,070 points during his career with 830 of those being assists. On the other hand Daniel scored 393 goals. Achieved a total of 1,041 points. Their jersey numbers are honored in the rafters of Rogers Arena.
After retiring from playing, they took on roles as advisors to the manager, before advancing to positions within Vancouvers player development department.
