Reporter Reveals Canucks GM is Preparing for a Major Trade Following Team Issues
A reporter revealed that the Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin is preparing for a major trade following team issues.
One of the hottest topics in recent weeks has been the alleged feud between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, two Vancouver Canucks' key forwards.
Even if both players confirmed to the media that nothing was going on between them and that reporters made everything up.
Recently, J.T. Miller
even proposed reporters to do an interview alongside Elias Pettersson:
However, many reporters don't buy it, and believe the feud is real.
That's Patrick Johnson's case. The Province's reporter confirmed that Allvin revealed he's ready to trade one of them if he has to and that teams are calling him, including the Buffalo Sabre:
"It's hard to see this carrying on at this point. If one or both of these players has said to management "me or him," it would not be a surprise.
Allvin acknowledged to me on Friday he's ready to make a trade if he has to. He doesn't hang up the phone on anyone. Teams are calling. You can bet Buffalo is one."
If a trade were to occur, it would surely be Miller who changes teams, per Johnson. Pettersson's contract will be much harder to move.
Johnson also raised concerns about Pettersson's high salary, wondering if he can live up to his contract:
"Trading Pettersson is a tricky thing to do. He's on a big contract, there are real questions about how he's handling himself, and there are internal questions about how he prepares himself for the season. Can he be the player that matches the contract?"
No one knows what will happen in the Canucks organization about Pettersson and Miller, but both players seem to agree that there's nothing going on between them.
