Now, it appears Laine may be drawing big time free agents to Montreal, as his former teammate Nikolaj Ehlers of the Winnipeg Jets has now been named as a player to watch in free agency, with the veteran winger potentially eyeing a reunion with Laine.

With the likes of Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky and Lane Hutson leading the way, the young talent is there for Montreal to compete for a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot in the coming years, and adding Ehlers would only accelerate that timeline.
