As per Dhaliwal's insights, Myers stands apart from his team mates who believe their efforts during the Canucks' most impressive season in 11 years deserve a pay raise. This update follows Dhaliwal's announcement that Ian Cole will be entering free agency on the 1st of July.
This season marked Myers' strongest performance in his five years with Vancouver, despite playing career-low for minutes, averaging at 18:57 per game. He notably increased his assists reaching his highest tally since the 2017-18 season. He also achieved his highest total points since 2018-19. Additionally Myers attained his best plus minus rating in his 15 season NHL career.
With less playing time this season, Myers displayed dedication and consistency resulting in more points and hits while decreasing lapses, in judgment, turnovers and penalties. The revival was essential for the Canucks' triumph.
Myers shared his wish to continue playing for the Canucks during his end-of-season press briefing.
Originally selected by the Buffalo Sabres as the 12th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Myers earned the Calder Memorial Trophy at the conclusion of the 2009-10 season for being recognized as the NHL's top rookie.
Apart from his time with Buffalo Sabres and the Winnipeg Jets, Myers also played a part in joining the Canucks in the 2019-20 season. Throughout his career Myers has amassed a total of 93 goals, 278 assists. Holds a plus minus rating of +9 in 995 games.
