This season has been a wild one for the Vancouver Canucks, and recently, President Jim Rutherford called out both Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, claiming that their public feud has impacted the team all year long.
For weeks now, the speculation has been that the team are looking to choose between Miller and Pettersson, with the New York Rangers the favourite to land the 31-year old, which has been the more popular move among the media and the fanbase in Vancouver.
However, reporter Rick Dhaliwal has now come out with a shocking prediction, revealing that the team may now not be choosing between them, but instead opting to trade both of them.
Given how this has escalated with Rutherford's comments, many fans believe the team need to make a trade now, and with both New York and Buffalo strong favourites to land Miller and Pettersson respectively, the time may be now to pull the trigger on a move.
Currently, Vancouver sit on the outside of the Stanley Cup Playoffs race in the Western Conference, and with the team considering trading Brock Boeser as well, by the time the March 7 trade deadline rolls around, this could be a team that looks completely different from the one we see now.
This may have been a simple prediction from Dhaliwal based on his feelings on the situation, so while this isn't guaranteed to happen, perhaps moving every piece involved in this drama is the way to go. Nothing is imminent, but given how quickly a Mikko Rantanen trade came together, don't be shocked to see one or potentially both traded in the next week.
