Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin was active on the first day of free agency, aiming to fill gaps left by Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. Yet, one insider doubts their efforts were enough.
While speaking on Sekeres and Price on Thursday, Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff graded the Canucks' off-season moves with a C+, questioning how one could argue they've improved from their Stanley Cup Playoff form.
Despite losing Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov, Patrik Allvin made strategic moves to strengthen the Canucks' roster.
Jake DeBrusk was brought in to enhance the top six, while forwards Danton Heinen and Kieffer Sherwood were signed to replace Ilya Mikheyev and Sam Lafferty. On defense, Derek Forbort and Vincent Desharnais were enlisted to fill the gaps left by Zadorov and Ian Cole.
The Canucks also made changes in goal, opting not to re-sign Casey DeSmith and possibly relying on Arturs Silovs or Jiri Patera as Thatcher Demko's backup.
Do you believe the Canucks deserve a higher grade than C+ for their off-season transactions?
