During his time with the Abbotsford Canucks, Cicek appeared in 49 regular season games, where he accumulated 13 points and 52 penalty minutes. Despite his contributions, the Canucks did not qualify him as a free agent, leading to his move to Adler Mannheim. Cicek was a key player for Abbotsford, especially in their penalty kill and during the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs.
Cicek's Career Path and Future in Germany
Before joining Vancouver, Cicek, a former captain of the Portland Winterhawks, played 147 AHL games over the past three seasons, including stints with the San Jose Barracuda. His physical play and stability on defense were significant for Abbotsford, and he is expected to bring these attributes to his new team in the DEL.
The 2024-25 DEL season will see Cicek start fresh with Adler Mannheim, continuing his professional career in Europe. Abbotsford's season is set to kick off on October 11 in Calgary, with their home opener scheduled for October 25.
