Elliotte Friedman Names One Team He Believes is Linked to JT Miller as Trade Talks Intensify in Vancouver
The Carolina Hurricanes haven't been linked to J.T. Miller much this season, but now Elliotte Friedman believes they could swoop in and land the 31-year old star amidst immense trade interest around the NHL for the veteran.
After a trade almost came to fruition between the Rangers and Canucks over the weekend, Vancouver have officially allowed teams to begin negotiating with star forward J.T. Miller.
With teams like the Rangers, Bruins, Devils and others all interested, trade talks could heat up in the coming weeks, but now, Elliotte Friedman has unveiled a team he believes makes the most sense on the latest episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast.
While Friedman also mentions the Dallas Stars as a possibility, it's the Carolina Hurricanes that makes the most sense according to the NHL's top insider, as they are shaping up to be one of the Eastern Conference's top contenders in 2024/25.
With Sebastian Aho on the top line, Carolina's forward group is formidable, but with Jack Drury playing the role as their 2C right now, a much needed upgrade in a 31-year old former 100-point player would be an incredible move for the team that's been on the cusp of a deep run for years now.
It's not been made clear whether or not Carolina have begun discussions with Vancouver or Miller yet about a potential deal and whether he'd be willing to waive his NMC, but if the 'Canes can find a way to add Miller to their lineup, they'll no doubt be a genuine contender in a loaded Metropolitan Division once again.
