The Canucks could be close to finalizing what may end up being the largest blockbuster trade of the 2024-25 NHL season according to the latest rumor.
Team insider Rick Dhaliwal has apparently heard that the team is pushing hard for a trade for Miller after the most recent developments in the Canucks locker room.
He went so far as to say that 'some believe the Canucks are working hard' on the potential deal.
Making matters difficult for the team is the fact that he has a full no-move clause.
In fact, there have been some reports that Miller is only willing to waive that clause in order to go back to the New York Rangers, the team that initially drafted and developed him.
Now it appears as though that might actually be happening as the Rangers organization has dropped a major hint of a potential move.
Several of the team's top prospects including adam skora, bo groulx & jaroslav chmelař were made healthy scratches tonight for the Hartford Wolfpack.
The Canucks may very well be interested in getting one or more of these prospects as part of the return for Miller, so that could explain why they are being scratched.
That being said, According to Dhaliwal, Miller has not yet been asked to waive his no-move clause.
That would only take a few moments though and the Canucks may be waiting until the deal is finalized to ask Miller for that favor.
After all, it the rumor about him wanted to return to New York is true, that should not be an issue.
Keep a close eye on both teams tonight as we may very well see a blockbuster trade.
