After landing Mikhail Sergachev from Tampa Bay, the Utah Hockey Club is said to be pursuing another elite defenseman, Calgary's Rasmus Andersson, in a significant trade.
But Utah's pursuit of a top defenseman might not be finished. Roger Hicks reports that the team is exploring a potential trade for Rasmus Andersson of the Calgary Flames, possibly involving a prospect and draft picks.
"#Flames and #UtahHC have reportedly discussed a trade involving Rasmus Andersson for picks and a prospect. Trying to find out more on this. #NHL"
Though it's primarily speculation at this point, the Flames trading Rasmus Andersson for a better rebuilding opportunity is a real possibility. Tij Iginla, the recent 6th overall draft pick who expressed a preference for Calgary, might be the prospect involved in Utah's trade discussions.

No matter what the Calgary Flames offer, the Utah Hockey Club will face a challenging season ahead. They'll need to secure the defensive talent they're aiming for.
